TJE 31: Finding Beauty in the South of South Korea

The Journeying Engineer savoring Jeju Island Korea

I am delighted to finish another travel video!  This is probably my favorite here in Korea: going to Jeju, Busan and Geoje in 6 days.

It was tiring, yes, but worth every bit of energy.  It’s a good thing I didn’t get sick afterwards. 🙂

I had 6 days to travel because of Chuseok – the harvest festival in Korea, and one of the major holidays in the said country.

Jeju is already famous as one of the best travel destinations in Korea.  And I got to see for myself that it is indeed beautiful.  All the places we went to in the limited time were just great.  We didn’t get to visit the major beaches in Jeju, but I had a feeling that it was okay.  Hyeopjae beach at the west coast of Jeju was just charming.

Busan is the major city of Korea next to Seoul.  I went there before, but have not gone to Haedong Yonggungsa – the Buddhist temple set at the cliff.

Geoje is home to the offshore platform and shipbuilding industry of Korea.  I have two friends who are based in this area due to work.  I opened the idea of visiting them in the holidays and they thought it was also a good time for them to tour.  They’ve been living there for almost a year, but haven’t gone around yet.  So it was a win-win for us. 🙂

For some reason, I wanted to push this trip, even when my friends who were with me at Jeju hesitated.  I just felt like I may not have another chance to visit Jeju any time soon.  And true enough, I made the right decision (more on that later).

Ultimately, this trip pushed through, and this video showed how happy I was during the whole experience.
