January 4, 2014 – the day after seeing giant trees, we hit the road again to go to Las Vegas. We went there with the family of Jen’s best friend, who also arranged the itinerary.
Las Vegas is always entertaining, but what delighted me was our quick side trip to Utah the next day. We went to Zion National Park, located at the south of the state. I thought I’ve seen the best formation of red rocks already, but I was impressed with what Utah has to offer! I’ll let the pictures do the talking:

We just scratched what’s on the surface, as we did not have enough time to hike and see more.
Side note: National Parks usually have speed limits for safety. One reason could be the presence of wildlife in the area, such as this deer we saw on the way out of Zion National Park.
And park rangers are around to make sure tourists follow the rules, right Jen? 😛

January 6, 2014 – Jeff, Glad, Josh and Tita Alice could not join for the next leg of the trip. So they all went back with Jen’s best friend and family to California. Jen and I were determined to go to as much states as possible, so, together with Alex and Just, we separated from the group and headed east. To be continued…
